The City is working with South Coast NRM to implement two urban greening sites for the purpose of increasing canopy connectivity for the Western Ringtail Possum. The actions are part of a broader project, led by South Coast NRM, to provide climate-resilient conservation of Urban Possum Populations

Description

The City and South Coast NRM have worked together to identify and prepare two sites for planting.

Havoc Park, located on Rufus St in Milpara is one of the sites selected due to proximity/connectivity to existing possum habitat. The other site is located along Lower King Road in Oyster Harbour.

Newly planted seedlings include a mix of trees, large and small shrubs of local provenance that are valuable to possums.
